The Nationwide Conference

If you want to know the latest Conference club to be affected by points deductions, which managers have upped and left, and which players are moving on or staying put, look no further...

CLUBS
Good week
: Scarborough are starting to plan for another Conference season following Altrincham's enforced relegation. Scarborough finished bottom of the table but will now stay up after Alty failed in their appeal to get an 18-point deduction overturned.

Scarborough's ground

"It's a hollow feeling, the way it has come about, but we are going to take it and make the most of it," said Seadogs chairman Malcolm Reynolds.

Bad week: Conference new boys Weymouth have also been deducted four points from last season's tally for fielding an ineligible player, Solomon Taiwo. As a result, the Terras officially won the Nationwide South Championship by four just points rather than eight, but do not plan to appeal against the ruling.

PLAYERS
Alex RevellGood week
: Adam Tann has signed a contract extension at Leyton Orient, Martin Butler has returned to Walsall from Rotherham and Cheltenham's Steve Guinan scored the goal that beat Grimsby in the League Two Play-Off Final.

Alex Revell (right, playing for United in 2004), captain of Conference South newcomers Braintree Town, is also reportedly attracting interest from a number of bigger clubs, including Boston and Exeter.

Bad week: Stacy Caldicott has been released from his contract at Hereford by mutual consent. The midfielder only played four times for the Bulls last season, and managed a similar number of appearances in a loan spell at the Abbey.

MANAGERS
Good week
: National Game XI manager Paul Fairclough saw England remain unbeaten in their defence of the Four Nations tournament. They began with a 2-0 win over Ireland on Tuesday, thanks to second-half headers from Northwich Victoria midfielder Michael Carr and Grays striker Dennis Oli. A 1-1 draw with Wales on Thursday saw a goal from Woking's Justin Richards cancelled out by Dagenham's Chris Moore, and despite Richards scoring again in a 2-0 win over Scotland on Saturday, they lost their crown to Wales on goal difference.

Bad week: Southport manager Liam Watson has resigned, citing his career outside football, his wife and his young family as the reasons why he cannot continue as a part-time manager in a club that is becoming full-time. "I have been juggling too many balls. After a great deal of consideration I felt it right to call time."

FANS
Good week
: It was a good week for Aldershot fans, who will get to see former Nottingham Forest frontman Jason Lee lead the line next season. Terry Brown's self-confessed "biggest ever signing" is a commitment from the club that is "trying to win something next season." Mmm... time will tell.

Bad week: It can't have been the best few days for Grays fans, who have seen their well-regarded boss Mark Stimson resign with the intention of taking on a new challenge with a League club, only to sign a three-year deal with Conference rivals Stevenage Borough.
