The Vice Presidents Club
The VP Club has its own room and bar where members meet before the match and afterwards to share a drink and talk about the match. The club has allocated seats in the stand (with cushions provided!), and there is the opportunity to take part in raffles and competitions, including a superb Christmas hamper (drawn on Boxing Day).
The VPs also have a dinner together before a match and members arrange a coach for some away games. The committee endeavour to provide a club were members can come, bring guests and enjoy facilities. The VP Club is also committed to raising funds to help the Football Club through sponsoring some matches and funding equipment for the Youth Development Scheme.
The VP Club is always keen to recruit new members, so if you would like to join or require more information, contact secretary Jenny Eustace on 01223 248172 or email Ejennyann@aol.com
St Ives U's
The St Ives U's was formed some six years ago by a like minded group of Cambridge United supporters. The aim of the club continues to be to increase the awareness of Cambridge United amongst St Ives and surrounding areas.
One way we achieve this is by running a coach to Saturday home games. This enables supporters, in particular unaccompanied children, to attend matches and also cut down on the congestion and pollution caused by numerous cars. The funds necessary to subsidise the bus was raised, in part, by advertising on a Cambridge Fixture List - an idea so successful that it has been taken up by C.F.U. Proceeds from Quiz Nights and Raffles also support the match day travel.
Pick-up points for the executive coaches include Warboys, Somersham, Earith, Bluntisham, Needingworth, St Ives, Fenstanton and Bar Hill. For further information please ring either David Bentley (Chair) on 01480 467916 or Roy Leinwebber 01480 393577.
Cambridge United FC has been very supportive with various members of the Board, staff, players and the Manager taking part in Annual Fans Forums organised by the St Ives U's. Since its inception, The St Ives U's fan base has increased to 65 members who all receive regular Newsletters and notification of our forthcoming events plus discounts from some of our advertisers. With the continuing support of the members, St Ives U's look forward to going from strength to strength.
Should you require any further information please ring either David Bentley (Chair) on 01480 467916 or Roy Leinwebber 01480 393577.
St. Neots U's
A supporters group was formed in February 2008 and is now actively looking to recruit new members in the St. Neots area.
We aim to promote and increase awareness of Cambridge United in St. Neots and the surrounding areas. We hope to run a minibus/coach to Saturday home games, organise social events and fundraising events to subsidise the funds necessary to run the bus.
If you are interested in joining us or even able to help out on the committee, please contact Paul Slater by e-mail paul@bororscum.wanadoo.co.uk or ring Tracey Ross on 01480 392439
Bedfordshire U's
Formed in 2006, this group is for Bedfordshire-based supporters of the U's to meet informally to discuss the club and potentially share transport to games.
For further information please call Graham Shipp on 01234-363097 (home), 01234 274801 (work) or e-mail graham.shipp@btinternet.com.
London CUFC Supporters
London CUFC Supporters is a club for Cambridge United supporters based in and around London.
The aim of London CUFC Supporters is primarily to help members organise affordable travel to games, both home and away.
Secondly to grow, through social events, a network of fans who can enjoy sharing each other's passion for the club.
And thirdly, to help the football club itself when the need arises.
Joining London CUFC Supporters is easy and free. Simply send an email to londoncufcsupporters@hotmail.co.uk with a subject line of 'I want to join'. You will then be included in all subsequent emails sent out to members. If you are a United fan in or around London, we hope to hear from you soon!
Other Surrounding Areas
We are keen to encourage supporter groups in other surrounding areas. Haverhill immediately springs to mind as another area where we know there is a CUFC fan base.
If you live anywhere where you think such a Supporters Group would flourish, and are willing to help in the formation, please contact the club on 01223 566500.
Moosenet
Moosenet is the long-established unofficial Cambridge United mailing list. It is an e-mail list for discussion of all subjects related to Cambridge United and football in general. For several seasons the members clubbed together to sponsor matches or a young United player too.
