Cambridge United beat off stiff competition from several clubs to sign Craig on a scholarship when he was released from Norwich City's academy in 2006, and he was quickly converted from a central midfielder to a right winger to make the most of his pace and skill on the ball.
Craig impressed throughout his first season, scoring the equaliser against Crewe Alexandra in our famous FA Youth Cup win last season, and was instrumental in CRC's escape from relegation. He made good progress in his second season to become one of only two scholars (along with Robbie Willmott) to earn a professional contract at the end of the 2007-08 season.
Head of Youth Development Jez George commented, "Craig's end product now matches his approach play and he really is an exciting talent. Whilst a different player to Robbie Willmott, he is just as direct and dangerous, so let's hope these two youngsters get the home crowd off their seats next season!"
