Carden to Captain U's
Paul Carden will lead the Cambridge United team on Saturday at Northwich Victoria.
New manager Gary Brabin delayed naming his captain while he assessed the squad and worked on bringing in new faces during pre-season, but today he confirmed to the official website that player-assistant manager Carden will captain the team, at least initially.
"I feel Paul is the right person to captain us and start off the season," he said.
"He's a good natural leader and at the moment he will be captain."
Brabin also confirmed that defender Wayne Hatswell has recovered from the ankle injury he suffered last week and he is fit for selection for tomorrow's first game of the season.
