Boylan: "Bitterly Disappointed"
Lee Boylan came off the bench to replace Leo Fortune-West during the second half of United's 1-1 FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round tie at Stafford and he was disappointed that the game ended in stalemate and also that he didn't earn a penalty in the closing stages.
"We are all bitterly disappointed not to have got through the tie at the first attempt, especially after taking the lead so early.
"We should really have been two or three goals to the good by half-time with the possession and chances we had, although to be fair to Stafford they raised their game after the break. But that's no excuse as we shouldn't have let them get back into it.
"I thought we still could have got the result after they equalised," he added, "and how we didn't get a penalty after I was pulled to the ground late on I don't know, but I'll hopefully get to take my frustrations out by getting a goal in the replay.
"I feel sorry for the fans that travelled up and gave us great support as they always do, but again left disappointed that we didn't finish Stafford off. Hopefully we'll put that right on Tuesday."
