Scott Rendell will partner Leo Fortune-West up front tonight against Grays Athletic.

Former Crawley striker Rendell has come off the bench to score in the last two games and was pushing for his first start of the season, but today's news that Lee Boylan has an ankle ligament injury means Rendell will definitely start against Grays Athletic tonight.

As reported here this morning [article], Boylan was injured during Friday night's draw at Weymouth and he joins Dan Chillingworth on the sidelines with ligament damage.

"He took a whack on his foot on Saturday and had a reaction, and when he came in on Sunday it was very swollen and sore. He could be out for weeks," commented manager Jimmy Quinn.

Team News

Boylan's injury leaves Quinn with a paper thin squad for tonight's game. Also definitely ruled out are striker Dan Chillingworth (ankle) and midfielder Danny Brown (bruised metatarsal), so Quinn calls youth team forward Robbie Willmott into the squad.

The 17-year-old has himself been under treatment for an ankle injury but he will be named in the squad, and midfielder Mark Convery makes an early return from the hamstring injury he suffered on the opening day.

"Mark will be on the bench tonight," revealed Quinn. "He's still probably a week away but we need the bodies; we're down to about 16."

One place where Quinn does have strength in depth is in the centre of defence, and he will recall Michael Morrison to the back line tonight: "Michael will come back in after a rest and we'll give Mark Peters a rest tonight.

"Mark has done really well and we're lucky to have four decent centre-halves competing for three places so we can give people a rest."

The Opposition

Tonight's visitors are fifth in the table following their win at Droylsden on Saturday, a performance that Quinn watched.

"All the teams are beating each other and we know in this league that everybody is capable of beating everybody else, and we just need to be consistent," he said.

"We've had three good performances away and three good performances at home and we need to build on that tonight.

"It will be a tight game. I watched Grays on Saturday and they deserved to win at Droylsden, and if we can sneak three points it would be a big boost and keep things going."

Quinn added, "We've got a great spirit and camaraderie, both in the changing room and out on the field, and you can see how far we've come since last year that we're disappointed with just getting draws.

"We've proved that going behind is no obstacle either - the character is there to get back into the game. I've always said it only takes a second to score a goal, and if we're behind at half-time I keep reminding the lads that if we keep going and show enthusiasm and keep putting balls into the box then we're going to create chances."

Supporters are reminded that the new home kit goes on sale in the club shop from 5pm this evening - details.
