Brown Out For Further 3-4 Weeks
Danny Brown visited the club's consultant orthopaedic surgeon Mr Dennis Edwards on Monday afternoon to check on the progress of his metatarsal injury.
Physio Greg Reid told cambridgeunited.com, "Further tests confirmed our diagnosis of significant damage to the cancellous (spongy) section of bone in his first metatarsal. This is often referred to as an occult fracture, because although it doesn't show on x-ray, this type of injury can be just as debilitating as a fracture.
"Based on the current amount of inflammation present, Danny will be unavailable for another three to four weeks."
Mr Edwards also checked on Dan Chillingworth's progress following the surgery to his ankle three weeks ago, and has cleared the striker to come out of his protective boot and begin the early phase of his rehabilitation.
Lee Boylan & Gavin Hoyte are both on course to return to training in around two weeks following their respective ankle and hamstring injuries.
