Open Goalkeeper Trials
Cambridge United Youth Development Scheme is holding an open trial to set up a new Goalkeeper Development Centre. This will replace the Goalkeeping Courses that we currently run on Friday evenings and will be by invitation only.
If you are offered a place in this scheme, it will involve a weekly training session with the same arrangements as detailed for the trial below and possible selection for matches against other professional clubs during school holidays. Most importantly, it allows you to still play and train with your Mini League or Colts League Club.
Depending on your progress, there may also be the opportunity of trials for our Centre of Excellence, as we do not have sufficient goalkeepers in each age group. Details for the trials are as follows:
Venue: Comberton Village College (3G Astro), High Street, Comberton, CB23 7DU
Date: Friday 11th January
Times:
6.45 - 7.45pm for Under 7's to Under 12's (report at 6.30pm)
7.45 - 8.45pm for Under 13's to Under 16's (report at 7.30pm)
What you need: Moulded boots/Astroturf trainers, GK gloves, water bottle, suitable clothing
There are limited spaces available, so please make sure that you complete and return the form below to Julie Ankers, CUFC Youth Development, Newmarket Road, Cambridge, CB5 8LN as soon as possible.
Although there is no charge for this trial, you will not be able to just turn up and play on the evening. Please ring 01223 729204 with any queries.
Those successful will be informed in writing after the event and the Development Centre will start on Friday 25th January.
