Our last couple of results have put us back into the heart of the play-off places, starting with the game up at Droylsden last Saturday where we had fabulous support and a good result on the park. In fairness, you could see that it was a game too far for Droylsden. They'd had a really tough week with four games in eight days - including a trip down to Exeter where they did a great favour to Cambridge United by securing a draw - but we did what we had to do and I was very pleased with the application and the performance put in by the players.

Rushden is always a tough place to go; there's always a little bit of a bite because of the local derby nature to the game, and although they've not had the greatest of seasons they've still got several good players throughout the squad. I thought that in the second half on Tuesday, we had a really strong performance. You couldn't fault anyone throughout the team, there were a lot of really good displays that night.

Again the crowd was absolutely unbelievable and to be part of it was fantastic. I think over 50% of the crowd at Rushden were Cambridge United supporters and the singing and the enthusiasm and the whole exuberance shown by our travelling supporters was absolutely magnificent.

My wife has been helping out with providing lunches for the players over the last couple of weeks and I did mention to them that if performances didn't pick up then she'd be continuing with that - so I'm sure that's had a lot to do with the back-to-back wins!

We've got a couple of scheduled games left here at the Abbey Stadium, neither of which will be easy, then hopefully we'll have a play-off semi-final as well which would be a fantastic way to round off the year.

Whatever the result, you can either celebrate or drown your sorrows here after the match. The second Abbey beer festival is being centred around the Fans Bar behind the Main Stand and is taking place over the course of this weekend. It was very well attended last year, made a nice little bit of money for the Football Club as well and I think everybody had a lot of fun from it. I would certainly recommend anybody who fancies popping in for a pint and a chat to do so.

Every beer festival has its own distinct character, and I get a sense from last year that we get a nice eclectic mix of people. The event is very relaxed and we've got some folk music on Sunday, which will be super as well, and there's an excellent range of real ales to choose from - as well as a few sort of 'girlie' drinks such as lagers and alcopops!

Can I just remind you that our Season Ticket offer runs out before the next home game? It's an opportunity to purchase Season Tickets for next season at what will be very attractive rates given that there will definitely be some admission price increases next season. It's a way that we, as a Football Club, can acknowledge and show our gratitude for the support that we have had throughout the season. So if you're inclined to buy a Season Ticket for next season, do it soon!

I would also like to thank Daniel Lewis from CUFCmobile for sponsoring a free pay as you go phone to each 100th season ticket application.

On a personal note I am looking forward to receiving one of the new JCB phones, which will come in very useful in my line of work.

Enjoy the match and thanks for your support.
