KIDDERMINSTER HARRIERS

Thursday 6th December 2007, Kick-Off 7.45pm

Aggborough Stadium, Hoo Road, Kidderminster, DY10 1NB. Tel: 01562 823931

Directions by Car: Leave the M5 at junction 4 (signposted A491 Stourbridge), and after approximately 5 miles turn left onto the A456 and follow it towards Kidderminster. At the roundabout on the Kidderminster ring road, take the first exit - signposted A451 Stourport and at the next roundabout opt for the first exit onto the A448 (signposted Bromsgrove), before taking the first road to the right - Hoo Road. Follow as it bends round, and Aggborough Stadium is approximately half a mile along on the left hand side.

Parking: Available behind the away stand and indeed behind the home end. There is also a decent sized car park at the railway station priced at £1.50.

Train: Kidderminster can be reached from Cambridge via Birmingham New Street and Birmingham Snow Hill or Birmingham Moor Street. Kidderminster Station is half a mile from Aggborough Stadium. Walk down Comberton Hill towards the town centre and take the left turning just before Motorway Tyres near the bottom of the hill. Walk up Hoo Road for approximately half a mile to the Aggborough Stadium.  It is not possible to make a same-day return journey from Kidderminster to Cambridge. So call in sick on Friday.

The Away Travel Club will be running a coach to the game, priced at £17 for non-members, £15 for members and £9 for children and Junior U's. It is due to leave Ely at 13.45 and The Abbey at 14.30.  Call 01223 566500 to book your seat.

In addition, Kidderminster tend to open the a portion of the all-seater East Stand, for which admission is £16 for adults, £11 for over 65s and under 16's, with under 8's admitted free of charge.

Programme: £2.50

The Ground: Kiddy's Aggborough Stadium is a pleasant affair, which doesn't quite make up for our dismal record there. Running along the width of the playing surface are two all-seated recent constructions, while at either end there is terracing - the away (South) end offering plenty of room for all travelling contingents, with the home end providing a similarly suitable roost for the locals. Capacity: 6,238.

Pre-Match Refreshment: The Supporters Club tends to admit away fans; otherwise, the Harriers Arms is next to the ground. A little further a field you will find the King & Castle at the railway station, which serves a healthy selection of local ales. The town centre can be found further along the A448 - the opposite direction from the station.

Food-wise, Kidderminster's in-ground grub is well renowned. They offer actual meals, including Cottage Pie, soup and Twix bars. There is also a popular chip shop near to the station.

Local Attractions: Not far away, on the A442, Shatterford Lakes Wildlife Sanctuary and Fishery can be found. It is home to wildlife and fish mainly. While, rather more handily situated in Station Approach, is Kidderminster Railway Museum displaying railway artefacts, old signalling equipment and timetables from years gone by. It is open from 10.30am until at least 5.00pm, so it's worth getting to Kidderminster just a tad earlier if you can. Their gift shop unfortunately ceased trading in 2006.

Kidderminster is twinned with Husum, in Germany.
